Segment / Freight forwarders
A fixed Midwest yard for your machinery moves.
You sell the move. Somebody still has to take the machine apart and get it in the box. We are that somebody, in central Iowa, and we are not after your customer.
Your customer stays your customer.
We are the yard, not a competitor. We do not approach your client, quote around you, or put our name on your relationship. That is a condition of every job we take, not a line we added to a web page.
It is also why we say plainly what we do and do not do: we pack, load, wash, document, and coordinate drayage. We do not sell your client a freight rate.
Capacity, lead times, and what we can take.
We are a fixed yard with a full-time crew — no traveling team to mobilize, no five-to-ten-day wait for one to arrive. Turnaround depends on the machine and the current yard schedule, and we confirm a firm loading date when we quote the job, not after we have it.
- Combines, tractors, headers, sprayers, planters, construction equipment
- 40-foot containers, flat racks, and open tops
- Blocking and bracing to carrier standards
- Export wash in-house, photographed
- Drayage coordination to the Des Moines and Chicago ramps
- Short-term yard storage while the sailing is booked
- Your booking or ours — one-way container procurement available
- Weights, dimensions, photos, and the packing list for your EEI filing
Forwarders routing regular volume to the yard get volume terms for repeat work, agreed in writing with the quote.
Liability, coverage, and certificates.
This is the first thing you will ask, so here is the plain version. Our liability for equipment in our care, custody, or control at the yard is limited to the extent of our confirmed cargo and bailee coverage in place at the time of service. Coverage and certificates are confirmed with you per engagement, before your client’s machine is on our yard — we do not publish a policy summary on a web page, and we will not promise a certificate we have not issued.
We recommend that you or your client arrange cargo insurance for the full replacement value of the shipment. M-Farm is not an insurer and does not guarantee coverage beyond its own policy limits. The full clause is in our terms of service.
Who files the EEI
For export packing services the customer or their designated freight forwarder acts as the U.S. Principal Party in Interest (USPPI) and files the Electronic Export Information (EEI) through the Automated Export System (AES). M-Farm and Meridian Freight do not file EEI on behalf of service customers — we supply the weights, dimensions, photographs, and packing list your filing needs.
Put one machine through the yard and see.
One job is the whole pitch. Send the machine, the destination and your lead time; we come back within one business day with a flat price in writing.
