Privacy policy
This page describes, in plain terms, what information M-Farm collects through this website and how it's used.
What we collect
When you submit a quote request, contact form, or newsletter signup, we collect the contact details you provide (name, company, country, phone/WhatsApp number, email) and the content of your request (parts lists, machine models, messages). With a quote request, a contact message or a store order we also keep a note of how you reached the site: the domain of the site you came from, the first page you opened and when, the campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content and our own src tag) and any ad click identifier it carried (gclid from Google, fbclid from Meta, msclkid from Microsoft). It is stored with the request or the order in our own records, whatever your cookie settings, so that we can see which ads, campaigns and listings bring real requests and orders. The same note also goes with the measurement events the site sends to Google Analytics, described below, and with the first-party measurement events our own site stores in its own records. Apart from that, we do not pass these notes to advertising platforms; the one exception is Meta's click identifier, which can travel in the report on a parts quote request described below, and only when advertising is allowed for your visit. To match a request you send on a later visit to the ad or listing that brought you, the site you came from, the first page you opened and when, and the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) are kept in your browser's local storage for up to 30 days when analytics is allowed for your visit (outside the European Union and the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Brazil it is on until you switch it off, as described below), and the ad click identifier only when advertising is allowed for your visit. Switching analytics off in Cookie settings deletes all of it; switching advertising off, or Global Privacy Control, deletes the click identifier, and Global Privacy Control also deletes the rest if you have not made a choice.
How we use it
We use this information to respond to your inquiry, prepare quotes, and coordinate the services you've requested. If you sign up for the newsletter, we use your email only to send the equipment and parts market digest. If you have sent us a quote request, bought from us or written to us on WhatsApp, we may also use your email address and phone number, in hashed form, for the customer lists described below.
Where it's stored
Submissions are stored in our systems and are not sold. We share information where necessary to fulfill a request you've made, for example with a freight forwarder or carrier directly involved in a shipment, and, when advertising is allowed for your visit, with Meta, as described in the cookies, analytics and advertising section below. Your email address and phone number may also reach Meta in hashed form through the customer lists described below, whatever your cookie settings.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, grouped into three categories. Necessary ones keep the site working and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) tell us which pages and equipment models are actually used. Advertising cookies (Google Ads, and the Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram) let us measure which ads produce real quote requests and orders and show our ads to people who have visited before. In the European Union and the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Brazil, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you allow them; everywhere else, including the US, they are on until you switch them off. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser switches them off automatically; if you have allowed analytics cookies yourself in Cookie settings, that choice still stands, but advertising cookies stay off for as long as your browser sends the signal, even if you allowed them earlier. The Meta pixel follows a stricter rule: outside the United States it does not load until you allow advertising cookies, in the United States it loads unless you switch them off, and it does not load anywhere while your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Once it loads, it tells Meta which pages you view, which parts you look at, what you search for and when you open WhatsApp from the site. We have switched off its automatic collection of button clicks and page details, and it is not set to read what you type into forms. After we receive a parts or packing quote request, our server also reports it to Google Analytics, linked to the Google Analytics cookie already in your browser: it sends the type of request, the page language, an internal reference number for the request and whether advertising cookies are allowed. This happens only when your cookie settings allow analytics, and it never includes your name, email, phone number or anything else you wrote in the form. Our server also reports three events to Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), so Meta can tell us which ad led to them: a parts quote request, the start of a store checkout, and a store order once it is paid. These reports follow the Meta pixel's rule above, not the analytics one: outside the United States they are sent only after you allow advertising cookies, in the United States unless you switch them off, and never for a visit on which your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Each report carries the type of event, your email address in hashed form (a one-way SHA-256 code, not the readable address), your IP address, your browser type and the Meta cookie identifiers in your browser; a parts quote request also carries your phone number in hashed form when you gave it with its country code, and a checkout or an order carries its value and part numbers. For a store order we keep those browser details with the order record, so that the order can be reported when the payment is taken. You can change or withdraw your choice whenever you like using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Customer lists for advertising
If you have sent us a quote request, bought from us or written to us on WhatsApp, we may put your email address and phone number on a customer list that we upload to Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. Before anything leaves our systems, each email address and phone number is turned into a one-way SHA-256 code (a hash); we do not upload your name or anything you wrote to us. Meta compares these codes with the details of its own users and deletes them once the matching is done. We use the people it matched only to show them our ads, to keep them out of ads meant for people who do not know us yet, or as a starting point for Meta to find people similar to them (a lookalike audience). Meta does this on our behalf under its Custom Audience Terms, and the data may be processed in the United States. These lists come from our own records, not from your browser, so your cookie settings and Global Privacy Control do not change them. To opt out, write to sales@mfarmusa.com and ask us to take you off these lists. We then remove you from them and from the audiences already on Meta, and we do not upload you again.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the details you submit in a quote request, contact form, or newsletter signup with data brokers. Advertising cookies measure our own campaigns and never hand your name or your messages to anyone. When advertising is allowed for your visit, Meta receives the reports described above, including your email address in hashed form and, for a parts quote request, your phone number in hashed form; some US state laws count that as sharing for advertising, and you can refuse it at any time by switching advertising cookies off in Cookie settings. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal automatically as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing that happens through your browser: while your browser sends it, advertising cookies stay off and our server sends Meta no report for that visit, even if you allowed advertising cookies in Cookie settings earlier, and Cookie settings shows that the signal is honored. Separately, the customer lists described above give Meta your email address and phone number in hashed form; Cookie settings and Global Privacy Control do not reach those lists, so to refuse it, write to sales@mfarmusa.com.
US privacy rights
Depending on your state, you may have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, and to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To opt out, set advertising cookies to off using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor it automatically, and while your browser sends it, it overrides an earlier choice to allow advertising cookies. For access, correction, or deletion, contact us using the details on our Contact page. To keep your email address and phone number out of the customer lists we upload to Meta, write to sales@mfarmusa.com.
Questions or deletion requests
To ask about your data or request deletion or correction, write to sales@mfarmusa.com or reach us on WhatsApp using the details on our Contact page.
